Okta Personal is a personal password manager that uses QR codes to help verify your identity through the mobile app. No need to remember or enter a password — just scan with your camera, and you’re in! As long as you have your mobile device, you can access your vault.

Sign up for Okta Personal

Mobile

  1. From your mobile device, open the Okta Personal app.
  2. Open the Okta Personal app, and click Get started. 
  3. Enter your personal email address and verify your account by entering the 6-digit code that was sent to your email. Enter your First and Last Name to complete your profile then tap Continue. 
  4. Tap Turn on biometrics (Required) and then Turn on notifications. These features are needed to unlock your vault securely. 
  5. You can access Okta Personal on both desktop or mobile. Tap Mobile and follow the prompts. 

Desktop

  1. On desktop, go to https://personal.okta.com/enduser/signin. 
  2. Scan the QR code with the camera app on your mobile device. Download the Okta Personal mobile app. If you already have it installed, great!
  3. Open the Okta Personal app, and click Let's go to get started.
  4. Enter your personal email address and verify your account by entering the 6-digit code that was sent to your email. Enter your First and Last Name to complete your profile then tap Continue. 
  5. Tap Turn on biometrics (Required) and then Turn on notifications. These features are needed to unlock your vault securely. 
  6. You can access Okta Personal on both desktop or mobile. Tap Mobile or switch to Desktop. To continue on the desktop, scan the QR code on your browser one more time and follow the prompts. 

About Recovery Keys: We ask you to save your Recovery Key when you create an account. We strongly recommend you do this to make sure you never get locked out of your vault. Learn more about Recovery Keys.

Security tip: It’s helpful to remember that Okta Personal uses your mobile device as an added layer of security. Unlocking your vault with biometrics and responding to notifications on your mobile device help us verify that it's really you.

Sign back in to Okta Personal

If it’s been awhile since you accessed your vault, you may have to sign back in. Here’s how:

Mobile

  1. From your mobile device, open the Okta Personal app.
  2. Enter your personal email address and verify your account by entering the 6-digit code that was sent to your email, then tap Continue. 

Desktop

  1. On desktop, go to https://personal.okta.com/enduser/signin. 
  2. Scan the QR code with the camera app on your mobile device. 
  3. Confirm it's you by following the prompts.
